Budget Builder: How much does it cost you to get by month to
month?
Most young adults
don’t realize that they will not have enough money to make it
through the semester until it is TOO late. Take action NOW.
Calculate your cost of living using this simple budgeting tool
developed in partnership with the University of Illinois. Using
real sample date from young adults, this budgeting tool will
allow you to get an estimate of what your costs might be up
front. (Remember this is JUST an estimate. All individuals
should track and actively manage their own earning and
spending.)
What are the costs of credit?
When you make a purchase with credit, you must
pay extra money called interest. Enter the amount you plan to
spend and other factors to determine how much these interest
costs will be. Then use the calculator to figure in the true
costs of this decision as you factor in lost opportunity cost
for an investment that you could have made with this money.
Still feel like charging???
How much money can you save over the
long-term?
Use this calculator to determine just how far
your money may be able to go for you over the long-term. Use the
salary calculator to estimate your after-tax pay and your pay
after taxes, saving and insurance. Then using a starting salary,
assumptions about your salary growth rate and elections
regarding the amount you will invest in various options such as
stocks, bonds and cash, calculate the amount you will have in
your investments at retirement.
