In conjunction with the University of Illinois, the EAC has developed the budget builder tool to help in creating a budget for college students.  This tool is focused on the costs associated with attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, but it is likely useful as a example of costs for any student attending a public or private university (adjusting for tuition of course).
