About Us
The Economic Awareness Council
is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to
prepare students and families for the economic and financial
decisions they will make both today and tomorrow. Meeting
the needs of families and youth with limited resources is
emphasized. The EAC served over 4500 individuals in 2006.
EAC programs and materials are
relevant and appropriate for children and young adults because
they rely on real life examples, stories, and information youth
can really use. This approach gets results. One hundred percent
of teachers using our programs agreed that their students
"learned more about economics and finance in their EAC program"
and over ninety-two percent of teen and young adult participants
agree that they "learned something new in EAC programs".
EAC programs and materials are
designed to effectively convey key concepts regarding financial
literacy, economics, banking, basic finance, checking, saving,
budgeting, and money as well as other financial and economics
topics for ages ranging from kids through adults.
